CODE OF CONDUCT

BENDIGO CRICKET CLUB

The Code of Conduct aims to set out the minimum standards for anyone involved in this club. The code applies when partaking in any activities club activities including playing, training or participating in club events. Every person, whether they are a spectator, player, club member, official, participant, administrator, coach, parent or a member of the community involved with the sport, should work to ensure:
  • Act within the rules and spirit of your sport
  • Respect is shown towards others, the club and the broader community
  • Respect the decisions of officials, coaches and administrators
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all
  • Promote fair play over winning at any cost
  • Inclusion of every person regardless of their age, gender or sexual orientation
  • Inclusion of every person regardless of their race, ability, culture or religion
  • All people of all abilities have the opportunity to participate in the sport and all aspects of the club and develop to their full potential
  • Display responsible behaviour in relation to alcohol and a zero tolerance to the use of illicit drugs
  • Act with integrity and accept responsibility for your decisions and actions
  • Ensure your decisions and actions contribute to a safe, respectful and inclusive environment
  • Violent, abusive, bullying or threatening behaviour is not tolerated
  • Report any disrespectful, sexist or harmful behaviour

GAME DAY ACTIONS

BENDIGO CRICKET CLUB

Team Functions:

  • Collect money for balls and umpires
  • Collect wallets and valuables from players and placed in a secure location
  • Complete team sheets prior to game
  • Pay umpires at the tea break if not before
  • Drink containers, ice and cordial will be available in small room where freezer is. Drink bottles must be collected, washed and stored away at the end of the game. Do not leave on sink for others to do.
  • Rooms must be cleaned at the end of your game. Includes picking up rubbish and emptying bins. Visitors rooms to be included in clean up.
  • 1st XI – 12th man will be selected and be responsible for running drinks/messages
  • 2nd  3rd  – designated non-batter/bowler is responsible for running drinks/messages

Clubs Responsibilities for Match Day:

  • Covers to be placed on Friday night – any time after 5pm. Captains of teams playing at the ground to organise.
  • If low chance of rain I recommend using strip cover instead of square cover. If covers are not in place, it’s at the club’s risk.
  • Covers to be removed and packed away Saturday morning (do not fold over fence as it has potential to damage covers)
  • Rope removal
  • Boundary line to be rolled out and should be two metres in from the fence.
  • Inner circle discs to be placed out for one day games, circle will be pre-marked out in dotted format.
  • It is recommended a 30-minute roll before commencement.
  • In between games it is recommended the wicket to be swept of loose debris (please pick up and take away), a 15-minute roll and remark of any lines that need it.
  • No need to remark all lines, just ones that are damaged.
  • At the completion of the days play the rope must be placed back around the centre square and boundary rope to be rolled up and stored.
  • Stumps to be available for umpires.
  • Score board, chairs and table to be in place and put away at end of the game
  •  

Afternoon Teas:

  • Club will provide hot food. Eg-party pies, sausage rolls in the freezer
  • Players to provide sandwiches, fruit platters, rolls etc
  • At least two volunteers will prepare and clean up during tea break.
